Preface

In 1997 we started to accumulate information regarding North Ridge CC and matters related to North Ridge CC which have happened over the past 30 years. We did this for purpose of including that information into a summary document that may be used later in creation of an ongoing North Ridge CC history-and-general-interest document. We have not, up till now, considered the various alternatives for such a document or set of documents, etc. And, we realize that for any such effort to be successful, someone will have to have the responsibility of maintaining whatever is decided to be maintained! Maintenance of whatever is put together will be no easy task. Until someone else takes over this maintenance or comes up with a different approach, we will continue in this document's current direction. The data is available to anyone in Microsoft Word format.

The deliverable of this effort could lead to a number of things, such as:

A document stored someplace and available on demand.
A set of collected items such as pictures, stories, old scorecards, old newsletters, etc. kept in an archive (such as in the library) which can be viewed by members on a regular basis.
A set of online material (summary of significant information from newsletters, etc.)
A set of online summaries of club golf, tennis, swimming, and other key matters.
A set of online summaries of significant other items such as club organization members, administration members, etc.

All of the above could be put together into deliverables that members could view and enjoy -- if someone has the responsibility to keep the information current.

For this document, we have started in the following direction. Summaries and lists containing:

Historical information
Beginning of a set of lists, identifying winners of identified tournaments, etc.
Memories contributed by members
An example of things we feel could add to member's awareness of club pride.

As we entered this exercise, I have been somewhat surprised that there is not an overwhelming member interest in this matter -- so, we have to be careful to not overkill the topic with a lot of effort and expense which is not going to be supported and contributed-to/maintained in the future.
